Gay holiday FAQs

Is Rome the gay district?
Although Rome isn’t a gay district itself, it’s a gay-friendly city and is home to ‘Gay Street di Roma’ (the Gay Street). This street, found in the centre of the city on Via San Giovanni in Laterano, is home to a handful of gay bars, restaurants and hotels. Get in touch with Huben Travel and we’ll be able to help you find the best LGBTQ+ friendly spots in the city.

Can you have a gay wedding in Italy?
With its rolling countryside, outstanding coastline and captivating architecture, Italy offers the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding. Thankfully, in 2016 it was made legal for same-sex couples to have a civil union in the country.

Is Venice gay-friendly?
In short, yes! It’s such a small city that there isn’t any one gay neighbourhood - instead, the gay scene is part and parcel of the city. If you’re looking for specific advice on LGBTQ+ friendly accommodation in Venice, Huben Travel can help.
